Month-to-month comparison of crane imports in 2020 and 2021
Data from China Customs shows that in 2021, India imported a total of US$264.413 million of various types of cranes from China, an increase of 94.9% from the total import value of US$135.663 million in 2020. Compared with India’s GDP growth rate of 8.3% in 2021, India’s demand for cranes has shown explosive growth. In economic construction, cranes play an important role.

Statistics of imported cranes in India in 2021 by category
From the statistical data, we can see that India has the largest demand for parts of lifts, tipping cranes or accelerators, crawler crane, rubber mounted self promoted crane, non electric trolleys and hooks. In terms of monthly import volume distribution, the import of cranes in the second half of 2021 showed an upward trend. India’s GDP growth rates in the third quarter and the fourth quarter were 8.4% and 5.4% respectively.
