Data from China Customs shows that in 2021, Myanmar imported various types of cranes from China worth US$21.314 million, an increase of 49.96% compared with the total import value of US$14.219 million in 2020. From the perspective of the timeline, Myanmar’s import value in December increased abnormally, achieving an import value of US$14.066 million, accounting for 65.97% of the total import value for the year, only US$153,000 lower than the total import value in 2020. It is still unknown how the crane market in Myanmar will develop in the future. From the perspective of trade between the two countries, China is Myanmar’s largest trading partner, largest source of imports and largest export market. With the entry into force of RCEP in Myanmar, it is believed that Myanmar’s crane market still has a lot of room for growth in the future.
