According to the data from the Chinese customs, Sri Lanka imported various types of crane equipment from China in 2021 with a value of US $8.023 million, an increase of 88.26% compared with the total import value of US $4.261 million in 2020. From the time line, Sri Lanka’s import volume in March, August and September of 2021 has increased significantly, but the overall trend in the second half of the year is in a downward state. Chinese crane suppliers are optimistic about the future trend of the crane market in Sri Lanka. According to the data obtained from the Ministry of Commerce, the bilateral import and export volume of goods between China and Sri Lanka in 2021 was US $5903.29 million, an increase of US $1742.6731 million compared with the same period in 2020, with a year-on-year increase of 41.9%.
